After splitting the season series, the two top teams in the division, Jimmy's Buckets and the Sault Timberwolves matched up in the B-Division finals.  With Buckets players David Pedatella, Nolan Punch, and Ethan Pedinelli looking to repeat as champions on a new team, the Timberwolves were looking for revenge from the fall seasons big upset loss. 

In a close, defensive battle, Jimmy's Buckets secured a 37-31 victory and claimed the B-Division championship.  The inspiration behind their team name and logo, Jim Pedatella, a staple in the Sault Basketball scene for many years, and the former coach of all of these players, helped celebrate the victory by presenting the trophy.

The B-Division in the first ever fall season, was the most competitively balanced group of teams in SMBL history.  When the regular season concluded there were 3 teams sporting the same, 5-3 record, and one team sporting a 1-7 record.  In the 1 vs 4 matchup, the Sault Timberwolves (5-3) took on the Soo Spurs (1-7), the other side of the bracket had two 5-3 teams, TF Rich and Down The Line Ballers competing for a spot in the finals.  

But in a shocking upset, the Soo Spurs who had won just a single game in the regular season, took down the #1 seeded Sault Timberwolves in a epic comeback, trailing 41-29 with 13 minutes left, crawling all the way back to stomp their ticket to the B-Division Finals.  Narrowly avoiding overtime as a half court heave from Rory Vrugteman nearly banked in.

The championship game was set with Down The Line Ballers handedly defeating TF Rich on the other side of the bracket.  In an extremely low scoring game, the B-Division championship hung in the balance with the Soo Spurs up 27-21 with 2:54 seconds remaining.  The Ballers would cut the lead to 4 with a huge offensive rebound and putback from Nolan Punch.  Then following a timeout, the Ballers would get a steal, head down the other way and Sam Spurway would cash in a corner three to bring the game within 1, 27-26.  

The Ballers would once again force another turnover and Spurway would look to once again hit a three and claim the lead.  The shot hit front rim and bounced off the backboard, but a great pursuit from Dawson Merling allowed him to grab the offensive rebound and claim the lead with a contested layup. 

In the B-Division's first ever season, there was one team that dominated the entire league to an extent that we have not seen since, and that was the Soo Sackers.  Winning by an average margin of 31.2 points, they cruised to the first and only undefeated season in SMBL history as well as becoming the first ever B-Division Champions.
